The Java 3D community site.Welcome to j3d.org. This is a community site put together by a bunch of enthusiastic volunteers to encourage more sharing of information among the members of the Java 3D community.Unlike other Java community sites like jini.org, we don't have any special conditions. Neither do we currently receive direct sponsorship from Sun. We're doing this for the fun of it and because we feel that such a community would help prosper your application directly and indirectly through being able to see what other people are up to. The initial impetus for this site was to find a permanent URL home for the J3D FAQ. From there, with the encouragement of others, we've taken it to be a full community site. At the start, we are lacking what would be complete community ability to add to the site, but we are getting that way. There are many reasons for this - the principle being that the server and ISP connection is not capable of supporting a fully dynamic community driven site. However, you are most welcome to send us contributions to the site. Alternatively, if you have an announcement or news item specific to Java 3D that you'd like to see on this site, let us know too! Please note that the quick links on the side only apply to the Sun supplied versions for Sparc and Win32. For other operating systems, please see the full downloads page.
